Roger Parker asks:

We have a concert soon in which we are performing a number of items with a chuch bell theme e.g. the 'Bell Anthem' and the Madrigal from the Mikado. We did a similar concert (again with a bell theme because it was performed in conjunction with a gathering of bell-ringers from around the area) 2 years ago but we want to try not to repeat too much of the same material. Any suggestions? Has to be performable by a church choir of reasonable but not exceptional standard (satb). I know there's quite a lot of Christmas stuff, but in July?!

The Bells of Rhymney was written by Pete Seeger and has been arranged for SATB by Jimmy Joyce
This is rather good and has been performrd by my choir. You can find details here http://www.emersonmusiconline.com//items.asp?Cc=MUSIC&tpc=
Go to the Advanced Search box in the left column and type in the title.

There is also the Bellringers Hymn (AMR 496). There are also many "bell based" organ pieces - Carillon de Westminster, Carillon de Longpont, both by Vierne spring to mind.....
