Things rather quiet here. Where are all my good mates, Lance, Nigel, Damon, stocky...

Obviously this is hardly news to anyone, a terrible tragedy. And plenty of discussion -of which I participated- on the BBC Radio 3 Message Board. (My user name there is Dyson_in_D, btw. Smile )

Last night I listened to RH's recording of The Canterbury Pilgrims . I just wept. He gave this very beautiful, underrated piece of music such loving attention, and all hats off to Chandos for recording it.

Thought I might try RH's Gerontius , but even in the easiest of times, I can't handle it. With every year it becomes more forbidding in its intensity. I guess I just identify too much, not very trendy to admit these days, really?

Anyway, I hope all is well with everyone. I miss the old times, but pray that my message of condolence to the Hickox family is conveyed here. Cheers...

Sad Sad Sad
I can only agree wholeheartedly with Jason's sentiments.
Richard was appointed chief conductor of Opera Australia, and this in part drew me back to being a subscriber to the opera season. We will miss him.

Lance

PS. Good to know you still visit this very quiet forum Jason
