This splendid CD has now arrived in my collection.
Yes!
It is everything I had ever hoped for. Our GREATEST composer proves once again: no one can touch him. He is the ultimate.
What a gorgeous CD. What beautiful music making. Many tears, perhaps I had too many drinks the night before. Yet this is the stuff of legend!
I could talk for years about this music. Suffice it to say that
The Spirit of the Lord
communicated to me like... perhaps never before. Listen to it: Elgar's vision is so monumental. It is almost as if this huge cosmic curtain is opening -you can literally feel it happening- and he then introduces us to a new world. Nothing will ever be the same, and not until his further revelations in the 2nd Symphony.
For those that missed it prior, Elgar has arrived. |
