This Past Saturday we went to visit the Gloucester area to see and play some interesting organs.

We Went to St John the Baptist Church in the Town, a 2 Manual Conacher

We then went to see the organ at St Marks in Kingsholm a 3 Manual Hill 1907, we were met with Ian Ball for anyone who knows him.

We then took a stroll over to St Lawrance Church in Stroud - this organ was amazing! The Pedal Section was booming! Woooooo!! The Trombone was shaking! - Felt good on the old Hornpipe!

We then Called back into Gloucester to meet up with Ian Ball to hear his organ at St Mary de Lode, I don't know if any form members have seen this organ its very complexed - its a 2 Manual chamber organ with pedal board, with half a rank of pipes on the swell missing so you have G-G Compass amogst a tenor F.

So that was my Weekend.

Bye For Now
Rob

Talking of Gloucester, I don't suppose anyone can shed any light s to where this instrument might now be? http://npor.emma.cam.ac.uk/cgi-bin/Rsearch.cgi?Fn=Rsearch&rec_index=D04993

I played it many times in its original home, and, despite an (on paper) unpromising spec, it was surprizingly versatile.
