Some rather good misheard lines I've pinched from the BBC Messageboard, and a few from other sources:

- Ponder a Gnu
- The Prairie Tortoise
- Suffer a Snot
- Good King Wence's Lass
- It is He that hath made us and not wee ourselves
- Whoso beset him round with dismal Tories, do but themselves confound
- Most highly flavoured gravy
- And Mercy Flea, hear us
- My bonny lass she smelleth
- All wee like sheep
- Anne Knight's fantastic company
- The piece of cod which passeth all understanding
- Best pair of Nylons
- My God I love Thee not. Because I hope for Heaven thereby
- Jesus lives no longer now
- While shepherds washed their socks by night

My bonny lass she smelleth is actually by PDQ Bach. One hopes proper credit was given on the BBC message board! Twisted Evil

Lady walks into a record store and asks the clerk: "do you have the Brahms Douche Requiem ? Razz

John (Admin): could you move this thread over to "chatter"? I fear for what Lance has unleashed! (Especially as I may think of some even worse examples shortly... Embarassed )

Overheard during a performance of the Beethoven Violin Concerto: "why is it that one of the violinists is standing up?" Embarassed

Reported by a friend of mine:
Customer: "Do you have Dvorak's 8th Symphony in D?"
Sales Clerk: "Dvorak's 8th Symphony is in G".
Customer: "Oh. Well, do you have anybody doing it in D?" Crying or Very sad

I work in a music library and a while back we had a score sent to us from the bindary - instead of "Beethoven: Eroica Symphony" on the spine, the binders had put Beethoven 'Erotica Symphony". Don't want to imagine what was on the minds of those binders! The score never made it to the library shelf....

Admin, you sure you don't want this moving over to chatter? I have many other tales I could tell from the world of music libraries Wink

A nice inoffensive googleable one is a request for Monty Verdy: the Art of Fear.
