We don't seem to start many new topics on this board do we? It's all wrapped up in the Waffle thread.
What I'd like to know is who was Corno Dolce who used to write brilliant pieces of humour on Anglicanism in "Organists Review"? Laughing
I miss her wit and clever insights into Parish Church life and music. Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad
Her true identity was certainly a well kept secret, although I believe she was a good friend of the late Christopher Dearnley.

Lance,

Did you try posting this on The Organ Forum too?

I think the waffle thread should be primarily for casual exchange, but certainly not intended to preempt the introduction of new topics. I would be curious to read Corno Dolce's writings!

Cheers,
Jason

I remember her from way, way back - probably in the 70's. I've a feeling she was Shirley ? but my memory isn't that good!

No, I haven't posted this request on the Organ Forum, as i find it a bit too USA centred for my liking. I dont think any of them have heard of Australia or even know where it is, and probably only half know about the UK! Wink Wink Wink

Anyway I'll give it a go, Jason, and see if I get a response
Corno Dolce's writings are brilliant. I'll go through my collection and scan a couple. If they come out OK I'll post them to your email address.

Have a good weekend

Aw nuts, you're right: it's just sitting there in the "unanswered" box. I've been having a field day on that forum and Nigel was quite correct: there are some real powerhouses sleuthing around there. One of them popped a question to me about St. George's RC in Worcester (UK of course) and it has sent me to the archives, both real and virtual. Wink

Cheers,
Jason

LOL!

I worked as an alien civilian for Uncle Sam's Air Force over here for the best part of three years during the last part of the 1970s. No, I don't have green coloured skin either hehe.

I have it on good authority that their chaps on a tour of what they called Woomeera (until they got here) were actually briefed that kangaroos DON'T hop leisurely along the main streets of Ozzie towns <grin>

Such a pity they were so disillusioned in that briefing Smile

Richard in Adelaide (named after the Queen, King William's wife, btw)
