I still can't find any records on NPOR. Can you confirm the dedication and address of the church?

Ah...... that works. You said 'Mumbles' and it wasn't under that Sad Looks nice, but, have Daniel's done a good job on it. I must admit that I find their work (including Brecon Cathedral) very bland and disappointing. I'll look forward to the recording with interest.

All the best for 2007.

Nigel

From What I know about All Saints, from my Friend who tunes it, um he says it not a bad job but it could be better, from the way I see it, the organ is "back to front" The Trumpet Reeds are on the far right hand side in the direction of the alter which is stipid, Ile have to ask him what he thought of the job initaly. To be honnest its a fine conacher organ I must admit but there is another fine instrument in Swansea via the NPO put in Landore and goto New Siloh Chapel a fine organ there it is

But here are some photos of All Saints Oystermouth Organ:

It certainly looks nice. I like the clock on the console - to time the sermon? Laughing

I also forgot to mention that the Solid State is in a bit of a mess, and needs replacing as well.

That's the trouble with any sort of electrics/electronics in an organ. I'm very much a fan of good old-fashioned tracker and mechanical drawstop action

I hate the Tracker Actions on my own organ it has a Rachit Swell Pedal which is absolutly useless and if you use the Swell to Great it works me out quite bad!!

Easy enough (cost about 500) to change the old trigger swell pedal to a balanced one. It means the swell box has to be modified to have the shutters installed vertically rather than horizontally. But the old ones aren't that bad. I still play several organs that have them.

If the action is too heavy, have the organ builder look at the springs. Are they set too hard (a typical Daniel's trick). They can easily be reset. Get a decent organbuilder to look at it. I recommend Roger Taylor from Burrington (nr Bristol). He does a lot of work in South Wales and is an excellent craftsman.

Audacity is fairly straightforward, but you'll need to download and install the 'LAME' programme as well if you want to save your files in MP3 format.

A Few Questions Nigel

1. When using the Program Audacity how do I extend the track as it only stops at around 51 seconds.

2. How do I improve the Quaility of the Recording??

Anyway Back to the topic

A Few months ago the PCC went ahead with the servicing work on my Johannus Organ without my knowing, as you know how I felt, on the following Saturday I had a Wedding - Full Church hardly no sound there whatsoever I know who has said the Makin Engineer to do it what the Makin bloke has done what Nigel Says is "Adjusted the Master Volume Switch" It sounds rubbish.

So today I went to the other church in our Parish the One with the Makin - bloody hell the organist there don't half give it some welly!! Not bad for a 20 Stop Organ!

So after the service I told my Rector that I wasn't happy with the current situation in regards to the last servicing it had done, I also told him about my campain to get externals for the organ, I'm going to meet with him next week to talk about it.

So Far I have

A 6 Paged Report on the Idea - explaining the good points and how much it might cost and how it will be meet - though Organ Recitals.

Advertising Posters to promote the Idea
And Names of players
And some Colour Brochures showing the range of speakers that Makin Offer.

So I'm hope I'm going to be lucky on this occasion.

Cheers For Now

Rob
