What is the proper number of times a single church bell is rung before a Church Service please.
Does it vary with the type of Service or time of day.
What is the tradition behind this?
Thanks

I suspect you'll get lots of different replies to this one! One tradition that I'm aware of is to ring the bell 33 times - representing the no. of years Christ is believed to have lived. I've no idea how legitimate this really is, but it was certainly the custom when I was in training at an anglo-catholic theological college. _________________ Trevor Thurston-Smith |
