Hello, I'm playing an organ piece by George Oldroyd (1886-1951) on my next recital. I cannot find any information on him ANYWHERE! Does anybody out there know anything??
Thanks!
Wink

George Oldroyd (1886-1951) was a distinguished English organist, teacher and composer. In 1915 he became organist for the English Church in Paris, returning to England after a year to teach at Trinity College and then the University of London. His "Liturgical Improvisation No. III" is a composition that musically portrays his interpretation of the ancient Latin Litany Verbum supernum prodiens:

"Come Holy Spirit from above and fire within us Thy great love."
