Harvest time approaches and I'm keen to find an alternative tune to 'For the beauty'. England's Lane doesn't go down quite as well at Family Services. I remember a trend years ago for a tune in 3/4 or 6/8 time, but can't remember the name.
Any suggestions for this or something else that's fresh-sounding?
Much appreciated

Lucerna Laudiniae, by David Evans 1874-1948 in a mixture of 3/2 + 2/2 (or 6/4 + 4/4 - my book doesn't have time sigs!)
Probably in other books, but at my church we use Celebration Hymnal For Everyone (McCrimmons) It's no.177 2nd tune.
There's always Dix. |

Thanks for trying - but it's not Dix or Lucerna Laudiniae that I've got swinging round my head, but another bright waltz tune melody. We must develop a facility on this site to quote scores! |

Well there's always John Rutter, but Andrew Carter also has a version which is in waltz time.

Now Andrew Carter I don't know. Is that an anthem? It's only a congregational hymn setting that I'm looking for - and it's possibly an alternative tune fitting the words that's stayed with me. If Carter sounds right, where can I source it?
Thanks for this - the trail is getting warmer!
