Anyone catch Evensong from Christ Church today? Not the kind of stuff I usually go for, yet for some reason Palestrina's music always mesmerizes me. Oh to have been there...

The Twelve by Walton is always amazing as well!

What more could one want than a splendid Choral Evensong this week from Winchester Cathedral, topped off by Sarah Baldock's wonderful playing of the first movement of Elgar's Organ Sonata, Op.28 Very Happy

Haven't seen the order of service, and missed the broadcast as always, due to having to play for an afternoon service.

Were there any hymn descants? Twisted Evil

Went to St Johns Coll Cambs yesterday as they were recording Choral Evensong for 22ND July ... a joint service sung with Kings College
-
It was pretty stormy outside and a might roar of thunder could be heard just before the final Amen of the last collect.
very nice service. 3 pieces by Elgar ( should keep Jason happy !)
Stanford in A ....
psalm 139 ( skeats ) was fantastic ( as per st Johns cd 'world of psalms )
and Mr Rutter there too ...
splendid
