Guildford Cathedral is located in the county town of Surrey, in the south of England. The town is situated about 30 miles (50 kilometres) south-west of London. It grew up in the Middle Ages around the wool trade but is nowadays best known as one of the capital's commuter towns and, of course, for its cathedral in particular. The Cathedral (the first to be built on a new site in southern England since the Reformation) stands on Stag Hill, overlooking the town from the west. Stag Hill is also the home of the University of Surrey.

From Heathrow there is an excellent twice-hourly coach link to Woking railway station, from where there are regular trains toGuildford.Plane
