At the church of St John's Southend, Essex we have a 'Choral Evensong from Scratch' on the last Saturday afternoon of each month (except December). Sight singers from any choir and none are warmly invited to come at 4pm to practise (or 3:30 if they want longer to practise and a drink) ready to sing Evensong at 4:45pm.
