  • Steven Morris, layclerk at St David's Cathedral, Hobart, Australia and the Director of Choral Music at The Hutchins School (the oldest school for boys in Australia and where St David's choristers are educated). In May-June 1998, the Hutchins Chapel Choir (the only all-male SATB choir in Tasmania)  toured the UK. Details of their visit to All Saints, Leamington Spa can be found here . Steven writes, "We were very fortunate to be able to sing Evensong in Wells Cathedral and then after attending an Evensong at Worcester we were asked if we could sing Evensong there the following night. We of course, were most honoured. We were very fortunate to see a lot of England (and a little of Wales) and soak up lots of Cathedral music and visit heaps of attractions. The English hospitality was outstanding and we were made very welcome everywhere we went."

    The Canterbury Singers, USA will be singing for services as the choir in residence at York Minster during the early part of August. They sing for Evensong on Tuesday (4 Aug), Wednesday (5 Aug), Eucharist on Thursday (6 Aug - Feast of the Transfiguration), Evensong on Friday (7 Aug), Saturday (8 Aug) and for the Sunday Eucharist, Matins and Evensong on Sunday (9 Aug). For many of the singers, this will be their sixth tour to England. James serves as Director, and Henry Hokans as Organist.

Having taken early retirement from the position of Headmaster of a local grammar school in Gloucester, I have recently been appointed to succeed Antony Boden as Secretary of the Gloucester Three Choirs' Festival - that is after this year's festival, which includes a tremendously varied programme of music, both choral and orchestral. The role of Secretary is an extremely demanding one, and involves liaising with David Briggs in constructing, negotiating and managing the entire week's programme. What a great job !"

  • Eric Osborne, the Bevan Organ Scholar at Trinity College at the University of Toronto in Canada. Our college chapel maintains the English cathedral tradition in its liturgy and music. The chapel choir, under the direction of Dr Willis Noble, Director of Music, sings at choral evensong every Wednesday during term. Our repertoire ranges from the middle ages through to the present day. We also perform many Canadian works, past and present. As the organ scholar here I play the daily services in the chapel for the faculty of divinity and accompany the chapel choir in services and concerts.

    I have served at many Anglican churches in Southwestern Ontario which keep the Anglican tradition of fine music. I am also a freelance recitalist performing across Canada, the United States, and in the United Kingdom.

    I am an organ performance and church music student at the Faculty of Music at the University of Toronto. I am currently studying with William Wright. I have studied with Richard Hansen, Ian Sadler, and John Tuttle.
